The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has introduced a policy confirming that applicants are expected to proceed under the immigration pathway through which they were approved.
Once an applicant has received either a provincial nomination under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) or an endorsement under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), switching between programs is not permitted.
Exceptions may only be considered in limited circumstances, such as business closure, application refusal, or situations outside the applicant’s control.
This clarification provides direction for both applicants and employers, particularly in cases involving reapplication strategies and pathway selection.
