Canada PR Fees Increased – Effective April 30, 2026

Released Date: May 2026

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has implemented an increase in permanent residence (PR) application fees effective April 30, 2026.

The changes apply to all PR categories, including economic programs, family sponsorship, and humanitarian streams.

Key Fee Updates

  • Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF): $575 → $600
  • Economic Programs (e.g. Express Entry, NLPNP, AIP): $950 → $990
  • Business Immigration: $1,810 → $1,895
  • Family Sponsorship: $545 → $570
  • Protected Persons / Humanitarian Applications: $635 → $660
  • Permit Holder Class: $375 → $390

Important Note

The applicable fee is based on the date IRCC receives the application, not when it is prepared or submitted.

If an application is submitted with outdated or insufficient fees, IRCC may request an additional payment. This can be completed through IRCC’s online payment system. Delays may occur if the correct fees are not provided at the time of submission.

Why the Increase?

Fee adjustments are made periodically to reflect inflation and the cost of delivering immigration programs under Canadian regulations.
