New Brunswick's AIP Intake Closed for 2025

As of April 4, 2025, New Brunswick has reached its annual cap of 1,250 endorsements under the AIP and has paused accepting new endorsement applications for the remainder of the year. Applications submitted on or before this date will continue to be processed. Additionally, no new employers will be designated under New Brunswick’s AIP for the rest of 2025.

AIP Still Open in Other Atlantic Provinces

While New Brunswick’s AIP intake is closed, the program remains open in the other three Atlantic provinces:

  • Nova Scotia: Accepting endorsement applications for most occupations, except for NOC 62020 (food service supervisors).
  • Prince Edward Island (PEI): Limiting endorsements to workers in healthcare, construction, and manufacturing sectors.
  • Newfoundland and Labrador: Continuing to accept AIP endorsement applications without announced restrictions as of now.
  • Prospective applicants should ensure they have a valid job offer from a designated employer in one of these provinces and check for any sector-specific restrictions or updates before applying.
Federal Immigration Targets Adjusted

The federal government has announced a reduction in permanent resident admissions, with targets set at 395,000 in 2025, 380,000 in 2026, and 365,000 in 2027. This adjustment aims to address housing shortages and other infrastructure challenges.

These changes may impact immigration opportunities in Atlantic Canada, so it’s advisable for applicants to stay informed about provincial and federal immigration policies.
