Canada Strengthens Pathways for Permanent Residency and Temporary Workers

Following the latest Express Entry draw on September 19, 2024, Canada continues to expand its immigration initiatives. 4,000 candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program were invited to apply for permanent residency, reinforcing the government’s focus on transitioning temporary workers to permanent residents. The cutoff for this draw was set at a CRS score of 509.

In addition, the government is working to reduce processing backlogs for temporary resident permits, including work and study permits. This move aims to streamline the approval process and improve overall processing times, ensuring that both businesses and workers can proceed with their plans efficiently.

These updates mark a significant step in Canada’s efforts to strengthen immigration pathways and create more opportunities for skilled workers and international graduates to secure their futures in the country.
